Northern Lakes Region was "born" when North Central Prairie Region was divided in 1995. USPC members in Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota made up the new geographically smaller region and Tom Pierson was named the first Regional Supervisor.
In 1996, eastern Wisconsin and much of Michigan split off once again to create Lakeshore Region.
In the eight years since its creation, Northern Lakes has come a long way. Today we boast 21 member clubs and nearly 300 members. In 2001, though still very young, we agreed to organize and host the USPC Annual Meeting - a daunting task. Our organizing committee outdid itself and the experience not only made Ole and Lena honorary Pony Club members but drew the people of NLR even closer together.
Today we're very proud of the activities we put on for our members. We bring in the best clinicians the National Office has to offer and we have good attendance at our rallies, ratings, and standards and ratings clinics. Our regional board is close and supports all the kids and activities fully. Northern Lakes is a great place to grow up in Pony Club!
